For a postdoctoral inquiry, outline your doctoral research, the methods or biological questions you would like to develop further, and your anticipated availability. Identify a potential connection to ongoing work in the lab and include relevant publications or other research outputs.

Describe your current degree program or research background, relevant coursework and practical experience, and the kind of project you would like to contribute to. Include your anticipated start date, duration, and weekly availability so the scope of a possible project can be discussed.

A concise inquiry is most useful when it includes:

• Your current role or degree program and a CV or résumé.
• A short explanation of your research interests and their connection to a lab paper, method, or research program.
• Relevant experience in computational methods, genomics, or biological research; links to papers, code, or projects if available.
• The type of opportunity you are asking about and your anticipated timing and availability.
